Sun Prairie School District is recruiting for a Director of Human Resources. The Director of Human Resources, reporting to the Assistant Superintendent of Operations, provides leadership and direction for all activities related to the administration of personnel policy, procedures, statutes, contracts, and/or handbooks. The Director has accountability for all human resource functions and systems involved with talent acquisition, management and development, employee/labor relations, equity, monitoring levels of employee engagement and morale, compensation and benefits, staffing ratios and budgeting, and record-keeping. The Director provides overall leadership and supervision of the Human Resources team.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Program Accountability, Human Resource Management, Business Management, Customer Service
Qualifications: Master’s degree or higher preferred in Human Resources, Administration, Educational Leadership or related programming. At least five years’ experience preferred at the management or administrative level. Public school experience preferred. Certification: Must possess and maintain or be eligible to obtain a current Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction (DPI) license for District Administrator (03), Principal (51), PHR or SPHR (08) or WI DPI License as a Personnel Coordinator.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES: Thorough knowledge of human resource management. Considerable knowledge of best practices in performance excellence and continuous improvement strategies. Considerable knowledge of personnel management practices. Considerable knowledge of principles of adult learning and ability to develop and provide training programs for personnel. Ability to set and meet high standards of customer service developing a talent management team that embraces a culture of both quality and service. Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing. Ability to establish and maintain positive working relationships.
