The successful HRBP acts as an employee champion and change agent. The role assesses and anticipates HR-related needs through close interaction with managers and employees. The HRBP proactively identifies needs and seeks to develop integrated solutions. This position is responsible for developing trust-based relationships across the business to deliver value-added service to management and employees that reflects the business objectives of the organization.
The HR Business Partner will spend a majority of his/her time in these activities:
Attendance at weekly business-unit and HR division meetings, providing updates and information.
Consulting with managers, providing HR guidance and perspective.
Mediate, manage and resolves complex employee relations issues. Conducts effective, thorough and objective investigations.
Provides day-to-day performance management guidance to managers (e.g., coaching, counseling, career development, disciplinary actions).
Works closely with management and employees to improve work relationships, build morale, and increase productivity and retention.
Provides HR policy guidance and interpretation.
Provides guidance and input on business unit restructures, workforce planning and succession planning.
Participates in and helps facilitate the Employer of Choice Committee. Responsible for managing notes and ensuring actions are realistic and timely.
Manage performance review process within HRIS.
Initiate and participate in 30, 60, 90-day conversations with New Hires.
Responsible for scheduling HR Open Mics, documenting and delivering messages/initiatives and/or escalating to the appropriate individual.
Act as subject matter expert to support Learning and Development initiatives.
Work to support recruiting and retention efforts.
Actively identifies gaps, proposes and implements changes that are necessary.
Ensure regulatory compliance with legal requirements pertinent to the day-to-day management of employees. Collaborate with HRVP when necessary.
State-wide travel will occur on an occasional basis, less than 20% of the time. Travel is anticipated to include day travel.
Based on the responsibilities of this position, this position may need to lift and/or move up to 30 pounds.
Education and Experience:
Minimum of four years of related experience in the field of human resources
Bachelorís degree in Human Resources, Business, or related field or combination of equivalent experience/education preferred
